“I am a child of german colonial history, I was born in Namibia (the then German South West Africa) my inherited ‘home’ by way of my émigré great-grandparents. I feel neither african nor german, if anything, my identity lies in the geographical landscape of my youth.
I love the way that in Germany you are accountable for your own waste, you separate it into paper, glass, aluminium, plastic and bio.”
